Things to consider while installing a geyser in your home

The appliance is generally wall-mounted and used for heating water. The main benefit of a geyser is one can get continuous service of hot water as and when required, and the hot water services Geelong works as help in such cases.

Things to consider while geyser installation

There are various factors to be considered while installing a geyser.

  • Sufficient space.

  • Water pipes should not be blocked.

  • Safety measures.

  • Height from the ground.

  • Firm wall structure.

  • Size of the geyser

  • Types of geyser

  • Requirement

  • Appearance and features

  • Brand and cost

  1. Sufficient space:- The first thing one should keep in mind while installing a geyser is that the space where it will be mounted should be sufficient. One must select a spot for installation which has free space around it even after installation of the unit. This is very important because it helps in proper cleaning of the appliance but also correct and easy servicing.

After buying a geyser, you must measure its size and then select a suitable spot for it.

  1. Water pipes should not be blocked:- Another thing you must remember is that the water pipes should be unblocked.

Before installation, check all the pipes for the blockage and if there is any blockage then try to get it cleared. The pipes must be clog-free and clean so that you can receive abundant and free-flowing water from the Slimline water tanks.

  1. Safety:- Safety is of utmost importance while installing geysers. One should be cautious when dealing with electrical works to avoid any kind of accident. Not only that, but the connections also must be safe.

This means the electric supply should have proper MCB protection. During installation and usage of geysers, it is very important to ensure that the electric supply must be grounded properly.

  1. Height from the ground:- Height from the ground of the geyser unit is also a very important thing to consider during installation. While installing the unit, you need to make sure that you keep the height at 1.8 meters. Don’t fit the geyser unit in the areas that usually remain damp or wet such as the shower area.

  1. Firm Wall Structure:- The wall where the unit is to be installed must be prepared properly and suitable. One must fix a wall plate or frame on the wall, then the geyser should be placed there.

If the wall is solid then proper drilling is required to make a hole. One has to make the hole such that it must be in a line to fix the wall plate.

6) Size of the Geyser- Another important factor to consider when installing a geyser is its size. It is important to see that it not only just suffices the needs of the family but also does not increase electricity bills.

The ideal size of the geyser should be according to the volume of hot water required. Simply put, the best sizes are those that produce enough heat for maximal quick application.

7) Types of geyser- Since water heating appliances are long-term investments, one must consider proper research before installing one.

Talking about geysers, they come in several types- Electric geyser, Solar geyser, Gas geyser, and Instant/portable geyser. So before installing make sure which suits your needs well and also which are worth investing your money in.

8) Requirement- Another factor to consider while installing a geyser in your home is its requirement. Geysers these days are not just only used in bathrooms, but also in kitchens for washing utensils and cooking. So based on your need, choose the geyser which suits your requirements.

9) Appearance and features- Whether buying from a nearby shop or online, it is important to check for the features a geyser comes with.

Some of the key features to check for include the Auto heat cut feature, Rust Proof outside coating, Adjustable thermostat settings, etc. Besides, you must also compare different colors, sizes, designs, shades, and interior decors.

10) Brand and Cost- Who wants appliances that would work only for the short term? No one! So while installing make sure you purchase a geyser from a reputable brand for high performance.

Not only do brands offer value for money but you can also expect warranty and excellent after-sales customer support. Also consider the geyser cost as it depends on several factors like power consumption, feature, capacity, size, and much more.

Always keep in mind that it is best to contact a professional to install a geyser because the whole installation procedure is very complicated and elaborate to follow on your own.
