Where to find Affordable Australian Art
One of the topics I am asked a lot by customers and readers is where to purchase affordable art online. So, I thought I'd talk about the places we shop for art used in both professional and personal design projects and homes today. You may be familiar with some of them, while others are ones you'd never think to look up on the internet.
To get the best of both worlds, it's smart to combine original works by local artists from established names like these. As with any good recipe, the secret to a great house is in the mix. Check out this article about Australian original art that showcases stunning abstract works once you've looked into these budget art companies.
If there’s an impressive online art brand you’re using that other blog readers need to know about, shoot me a comment at the conclusion of this piece. In the meanwhile, I invite you to peruse my mood boards, which include selections from some of my favorite low-cost online art galleries.
1 - Whitfield Collection:
Whitfield Collection is a cutting-edge gallery that puts a modish twist on the conventional art market. Staying true to their mission, this gallery provides a carefully curated online community that relies heavily on user contributions.
The modern works in the Whitfield Collection are available on the web and are represented by artists from all of Australia's states and territories. Their goal as art enthusiasts is to create a unique venue for professionals at all stages of their careers, from those just starting out to those who have already established a name for themselves in the Australian art world. The Whitfield Collection team carefully curates an online gallery where artists may showcase their work.
Art lovers and admirers will get insight into the gallery's philosophy thanks to these insightful narratives. Every month, Whitfield Collection spotlight a different artist by publishing a narrative about their work and the influences and perspectives that helped shape it in their Art Blog section.
2 - Urban Road:
After Whitfield Collection, Urban Road is where we often seek for reasonably priced artwork to present to customers. From abstract to landscape, Aboriginal to photographic prints, they have it all.
Their abstract pieces that take inspiration from the natural world are my favourites. The inspiration board up above displays a few of them. They're perfect if you're looking for a non-literal piece of wall art that conveys a sense of place.
It's not only that the artwork at Urban Road is reasonably priced and locally produced in Australia; the collection is often refreshed to include works that are in tune with contemporary design aesthetics. Each piece is also available as a stretched canvas, framed canvas, paper print, or framed paper print. They are offered in several sizes, with prices beginning at less than $40.
The fact that Urban Road also provides an app that allows you to "try it in" your own space before making a final decision on a piece of art is icing on the cake. Indeed, this is rather remarkable! I can't remember how many times I've used their artwork, but you can find it in the Bentleigh project's common areas.
3 - United Interiors:
United Interiors is the second popular online art gallery that we recommend to our design clients. They are an Australian company that has been selling reasonably priced art for nearly a decade.
I think they work well with more assertive, brash music. The mood board up above displays some of these examples, but they are just the beginning. Another thing I like about United Interiors is that they have a lot of two- and three-piece sets available for purchase. Therefore, they have many heavenly options for decorating a vast wall.
They often run sales, so you can always find great deals on paintings here. They provide a selection of kid-friendly artwork at reasonable prices, in addition to a variety of frame sizes. Costs may vary, but everything here is less than $100.
You can also take advantage of their free room preview service to send over some photos and get some professional art advice. You may see examples of their work in the dining and living areas of our Camberwell project.
