100 new jobs will be created in Caboolture after the Turnbull Government committed funding to the expansion of the Caboolture Sawmill.
As we create a stronger economy, AKD Softwoods will more than double the capacity of the sawmill and will increase its workforce to over 200 employees.
The expansion is another example of the stronger economy the Turnbull Government is creating which is giving companies like AKD Softwoods the confidence to invest and employ more people.
The Turnbull Government will commit $10 million to assist with the $50 million expansion.

The forestry industry has been vital to the development and prosperity of communities across Australia – including in Caboolture and surrounding areas.
The Caboolture Sawmill currently processes more than 215,000 cubic metres of sawlog into a diverse range of timber products for consumers across Queensland and New South Wales, with this new investment more than doubling this to 450,000 cubic metres.
The sawmill which currently employs 120 people, with this investment, is expected to nearly double its workforce.
This funding will see the installation of a new saw line, essential upgrades to its drying kilns and the first stages of a brand new distribution facility. Once implemented, the new facility will add $52 million in additional revenue to the Moreton Bay Region.
